Iron River: The Wisconsin National Guard will conduct free drive-thru COVID-19 tests from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Iron River Fire Station, 8285 US Highway 2, Iron River. No appointment is necessary to be tested. People must be 1 year or older to be tested. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The tests performed will be PCR tests, with results available in three to seven days. There will be no antibody test available at this event.
Saturday September 25
Superior: The Barker Island Farmers Market is from 9 a.m. to noon near the SS Meteor.
Superior: The City of Superior Volunteer Fire Department organizes the City Cleanup Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prices range from $ 5 to $ 25.
Sunday September 26
Superior: The Douglas County Merchant Village will be held at Head of the Lakes Exhibition Center, 4700 Tower Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include a chicken exchange, farmers market, crafts, vendors and food.
Monday September 27
Superior: The Lego Club at the Upper Public Library meets from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Kids are invited to build something amazing out of the library’s huge collection of Legos. Masks are mandatory to participate in the Lego Club.
Tuesday September 28
Superior: The Upper Public Library hosts Story Time in the Park at 10:30 a.m. in Pavilion 2 in Billings Park. The weekly event includes stories, crafts and fun for the kids.
Wednesday September 29
Superior: The Downtown Farmers Market is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the 1200 block of Banks Avenue.
Thursday September 30
Superior: The Upper Public Library Adult Book Club will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The group will discuss the book âThe Guest Listâ by Lucy Foley. Copies of the book are available at the loan desk. Those who prefer to participate virtually should email [email protected]
Friday October 1
Superior: Applebee’s in Superior will donate 15% of each check to the Humane Society of Douglas County from October 1-31. People can order online or call up their orders. Participants must bring a hard copy of the flyer from the Humane Society website, or show a digital photo to the cashier when picking up your order.
