Georgetown manufacturing plant will be the world’s largest solar rooftop facility
GEORGETOWN, TX, August 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Congressman John Carter was joined by the mayor Josh Schröderand other community leaders to celebrate the inauguration of GAF Energy new 450,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Georgetown, TX. GAF Energya Industry standard company and one of the leading suppliers of solar roofs in North America, is building the facility, the company’s second, to meet growing demand for its award-winning Timberline Solar™ roof. Launched earlier this year, Timberline Solar™ features the world’s first nailable solar shingle and is the only roofing system to directly integrate solar technology into traditional roofing processes and materials. Construction is expected to be complete next summer and be fully operational by the end of 2023. Portman Industrial is the building owner and developer and ARCO/Murray is the construction partner.
