A new open-air market that promises a ‘family festival vibe’ has just opened in the heart of Cardiff city center.
Charles Street Market was launched Saturday on Charles Street – just off Queen Street – and will be held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With live music and a focus on high quality organic and sustainable local produce, the market stands up for Welsh businesses and artists.

We went on day one to check it out – and it’s safe to say that the market, while small, prioritizes quality over quantity.
We were warmly greeted with a variety of artisan foods, drinks, plants, arts and crafts on offer, as well as live music performances.
Passing visitors stopped to scan merchandise, shop and film the performers.
Chad Cloete, 28, said he didn’t realize the market was open and came across it while visiting Newport.
“I think it’s beautiful,” he said, but “it needs to be announced more”.
“I love plants and I love music,” he added. “It’s just a great atmosphere. I will come back 100%. I work in [Cardiff] Central Library, so it’s not too far for me to come down and browse quickly during my lunch. “

Sasha Morgan, 26, who was visiting Cardiff from the Vale of Glamorgan, said: “I normally go to Riverside Market and Roath Market. I love a little market.”
She added, “It’s good that independent retail can take place. It’s a street to have actually.”
