GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – A new patisserie dedicated to authentic French cuisine is now open at the downtown Grand Rapids Market.
Gaby’s Gourmandise, which held a grand opening ceremony on Friday, has a menu that includes pastries, cakes, quiches and a variety of lunch options, downtown market representatives tell us.
We are also told that two tartines (French toast) are available.
“Traditionally, sandwiches are a street food in France, intended to be eaten while walking,” explains chef Jean-Gabriel (Gaby) Ferrandon. “They can be topped simply with jam or with tasty, hearty ingredients like our menu selections.”
Other menu items include Ham butter sandwiches, a vegan ratatouille sandwich, soups and salads, a strawberries tree with organic strawberries and vanilla cream, and several packed lunch formulas.
“It has been exciting to be part of the hustle and bustle within the covered market and wonderful to see the local community embrace us,” said Gaby. “I look forward to providing visitors with a unique French culinary experience when they visit the downtown market.”
