While affording new clothes should theoretically being exciting can quickly turn into just one more chore that slips to the end of your to-do list – especially when you don’t know where to turn for pieces that will fit you perfectly and make you feel your best. INSYZE is the online marketplace that aims to solve this problem for shoppers, reviewing plus-size stylish brands and giving you a steady stream of personalized recommendations (all while making sustainability a high priority).
INSYZE is a large interactive market where shoppers can find everything they need in one place – not just clothes and accessories (though there are plenty of them), but also style tips, tailored outfit recommendations, interviewsrewards and even a community message board.
It makes sense that a community-building marketplace was started by two sisters — Danielle and Sylvie — who saw a need for elegant clothing in large sizes (as they pointed out, many of the bigger brands seem to completely ignore the needs of plus size shoppers, even though nearly 70% of women in the United States wear a size 14 or larger).
On the INSYZE website, Danielle wrote how daunting it was every time she went shopping with Sylvie, as she was always “a completely different size from my sister”. She always found that there just weren’t many options for her. Even when there were finally more plus-size brands, there was still a problem with visibility, she added.
“[INSYZE] wants to change that and make it easier for women to find the clothes they’re looking for,” Danielle wrote. “I literally spent hours browsing dozens of different websites trying to find a dress or googling ‘top size 18’ and not finding anything that I really liked.”
Sylvie herself was motivated by seeing her sister’s frustration and after some research realized that Danielle was far from alone in her fight. The two sisters readily admit that they have mixed feelings about the term “plus-size”. “It makes me feel like [you’re] plus size then you are not the normal size,” Danielle wrote. “In the UK and US, clothing size average is considered plus size. How does that make sense?”
For now, they find the term a useful identifier that helps people find their way to INSYZE, but their hope is to phase it out as the site gains recognition.
The first step to join the INSYZE community is create an account (which you can do completely for free). You’ll be prompted to complete a short questionnaire to help INSYZE learn more about your style preferences, size needs, and ideal price range. This helps the site create a single purchase flow just for you – and you can further refine this feed by selecting “I like this outfit” or “Not my style” for the pieces shown to you. It’s a bit like having a personal shopper that you don’t have to pay (or endure).
With an INSYZE account, you can also take full advantage of the support discussion forum strictly for tall people. The topics you’ll find here vary and go well beyond fashion. Users are incredibly responsive and supportive, making it feel like a lively and welcoming space.
INSYZE also has a Loyalty programwhere you can earn points for things you’d probably feel obligated to do anyway, like completing your profile, responding to a message in the chat room, referring a friend, and simply shopping on the site.
The marks on INSYZE are carefully selected with sustainability in mind, with the aim of helping you find fantastic pieces that don’t qualify as “fast fashion”. Each brand presented on the site signs an ethical commitment so that buyers can be sure that forced and/or child labor is not used during the production process.
All orders are sent to you directly from the brand, and INSYZE provides all of its brands with compostable packaging to reduce the impact of each shipment on the planet. Also impressive: INSYZE plants a tree for every order to help neutralize its carbon footprint.
Whether your wardrobe needs summery dresses and rompers, everyday basics, loungewear, or even glamorous party dresses, you’ll find it all on the INSYZE site (and you can have it shipped quickly to your door in this compostable packaging). There are endless ways to navigate the site, depending on what works best for you. When you know exactly what you’re looking for, you can search by clothing type – but you can also browse by brand, new arrivals or different “modified” collections (with options such as Casual basics, Pregnancy Maternity, Brunch outfits, wedding guestand Trending on TikTok).
