SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 8 March 2022 – NCS today announced its acquisition of Australia’s largest private IT services company, The Dialog Group (Dialog), to better help the Australian public sector and enterprise clients meet their growing digital transformation needs. The acquisition of Dialog for AU$325 million (S$325 million) aims to unlock new growth opportunities in the Australian market and accelerate NCS’ regionalization strategy. Renowned for its wide portfolio of services ranging from IT consulting, application development to managed application services, Dialog has a presence in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Darwin and Adelaide.

Mr. Ng Kuo Pin, CEO of NCSsaid, “This acquisition is an important step in the regionalization of NCS and leverages the combined strengths of NCS and Dialog, as well as their established track record and reputation in Singapore and Australia. The scale of this acquisition, the largest to date, reflects our strong commitment to growing our business beyond Singapore’s shores, particularly in Australia where we can also leverage the strategic presence of the Singtel Group.”

The acquisition combines Dialog’s core computing capabilities and NCS NEXT digital services to strengthen its focus on innovation, cloud, artificial intelligence and data analytics. It is also tripling the number of highly trained IT specialists in its Australian operations to 1,300 – ready to support customers from a multitude of sectors including government, healthcare, transport, communications, financial and business services. This combination of talent and expertise will create a stronger end-to-end suite of digital technologies and services for NCS customers in Australia and the region.

Ng added, “At NCS, our goal is to advance our communities by harnessing technology and bringing people together to make the extraordinary happen. Likewise, Dialog’s commitment to customers and technology has made it one of Australia’s leading technology companies, serving government and enterprise customers. This alignment of goals makes Dialog an ideal solution. Collectively, our capabilities, talent and reach will strengthen and solidify our position in Australia and help our customers and industry meet the digital transformation demands of the future economy.

Advance your position in the market in Australia

As part of its transformational growth plan, NCS has been expanding its presence in Australia since December 2020 to serve its Australian customers through NCS NEXT, its digital innovation and services arm – which supports growing business demand for digital transformation solutions . Together, Dialog and NCS will have greater opportunities for synergistic growth between Australia and Singapore as well as expertise to better meet customer needs in both markets.

This latest deal follows NCS NEXT’s acquisition of two fast-growing technology companies last year: Riley, a cloud consultancy with expertise dedicated to Google’s cloud applications and Eighty20 Solutions, a specialist in cloud transformation with unique capabilities across Microsoft cloud platforms, delivering a “best of-cloud portfolio of services in the Australian market.

Mr. Alan Key, CEO of Dialog, said: “Together we will have a wide range of capabilities and expertise available to our customers here in Australia. NCS and Dialog’s talent development cultures and programs will develop the best talent pool and create exciting jobs and growth opportunities.”

According to Gartner, IT spending in Australia is showing its strongest growth in a decade and is expected to grow by 6.5% in 2022. The largest segment of IT spending in Australia is IT services, which is expected to reach A$39 billion in 2022.[1] .

Combined capabilities drive innovation and co-creation

With one of the highest Net-Promoter (NPS) scores in the industry and a long-standing customer base of governments and large enterprises, Dialog understands the unique needs of the market and reinforces NCS’s commitment to better serve a diverse range of clients in government, healthcare, transportation, financial services, industry, commerce, communications, media and technology sectors.

Governments and enterprise clients can now access high-tech capabilities in 55 specializations to meet their transformation needs, including leveraging innovative digital and cloud technologies. They will also be able to leverage the synergies of the NCS NEXT Innovation Centers, spanning Singapore and Melbourne, to drive innovation through cross-border collaboration and co-creation.

An ideal place to develop talents

The newly combined NCS and Dialog will unlock synergies in talent development and create a stable pool of tech talent for the Australian market. With the increased market presence, NCS and Dialog employees will have more options to achieve personal growth and mastery, opportunities to move between specializations and work in diverse regions and industries, with different clients and partners to gain a wide range of experiences. Depending on their skills and areas of interest, they may also be involved in exciting and impactful projects, reflecting NCS’s commitment to creating a place where talent can grow and thrive professionally.

Completion of the acquisition is subject to satisfaction of closing conditions, including relevant regulatory and other third party approvals, and is expected to be completed within three months.
