Magnit said Thursday he is making several changes to his organizational structure, including laying off his deputy managing director, in order to accelerate his digital transformation and focus on growing online shopping sales.
The Russian retailer said a new business unit has been created to oversee the development of Magnit’s online sales channels and continue to improve its online shopping infrastructure. The business unit will be led by recently appointed e-commerce director Andrey Lukashevich, who will report directly to President and CEO Jan Dunning.
A separate business unit will oversee the continued development of Magnit’s technology and IT infrastructure, as well as its advanced analytics and big data capabilities.
The company said the changes would make the post of Executive Director and Deputy Managing Director Florian Jansen redundant.
The changes will simplify and accelerate decision-making, ensure more efficient collaboration and accelerate company strategy, Magnit said.
